Abstract

Within the framework of the productions that are being developed from a social perspective that focus on the problematization of disability as a transversal category, the recent book "Disability, Intersectional Agency and Latinx Identity. Theorizing LatDisCrit Counterstorie" by Alexis Padilla (2022) is an interdisciplinary volume that puts in tension the approach to dis/ability from an intersectional dimension (class, gender and race) of subalternity. He states that it is transversal to recognize LatDisCrit as a space of creative vitality that is composed of critical interaction. Padilla, in the face of the lack of hope embodied in the context of racialized capacitism, stresses the tragic notion of disability from a specific point of view from the Global South.
