Abstract
The present work deals with the phenomenon of envy, as a factor of origin of the disease; from the Otomi worldview this causes physical damage to the body and also material in the belongings of the people, the Otomies always seek treatment so that it does not end with death. To achieve this, a classification of the disease is exposed from the Otomi worldview, based on the ethnographic work and the semantics of the native language; Within this classification, the elements of envy that trigger a condition and its way of treating it from the position of the Otomies of the northern region of the State of Mexico are identified
