Abstract

The proposal intends to address the symbolic and experiential framework of the regular practice of Biodanza from the sociology of the body and emotion. To this end, a theoretical exploration is made that addresses the body as a central category seen from the sociological perspective through the postulates of Le Breton (2006), Bourdieu (2003) and Sabido (2013) addressing issues that explore the characteristics of the Biodanzantes bodies in a context of discipline and standardization of the bodies that dance.

Subsequently, the relationship between the sociology of emotion and Biodanza is addressed, analyzing the social and biophysiological effects (Scribano, 2012) that inhabit the bodies practicing Biodanza. The methodology focused on an ethnographic fieldwork, through interviews, participant observation and photographic record in the students of the Colombian School of Biodanza, Bogota Colombia.  This process allowed to show how the body and emotion are experiential agents that question the feeling and subjectivity through body movement, being Biodanza a methodology that is also analyzed from Sociology.
