Abstract

The “Marcha de la Gorra”, held in the city of Córdoba, is a collective action that summons a multitude of young people into the public space, and is part of a large anti-repression movement. It is distinguished by a way to intervene the streets, through art. The objective of this article is to share the analytical dimensions built on the various emerging meanings that the actors gave to the artistic interventions, deployed in the eleventh edition of the march.

The research design used was an “Ethnography of events”, which involved the challenge of employing a range of resources in the manner of a "methodological mosaic". The meanings that the actors built over art through collective action, were multiple and diverse, underlying dissimilar conceptions on them, variable in the same subject. The idea of art emerges as a possibility to inhabit the public space that merges the rational, emotional and practical; the singular and collective; the symbolic and material. These are constructions of meaning that emerge within complex, changing and diverse subjective configurations, whose transversal thread is a strong desire to transform reality.
