Abstract

The text now being presented try to reflect the hegemony of biomedicine in the contemporary comprehension of the adolescence, with a more precise discussion on the centrality of the brain in the biomedical considerations of behaviorist issues regarded as normal in the adolescence. This discussion is a result from a post-doctorate research performed with the aim to investigate the relationship between the conception of adolescence and the biomedical knowledge over the body, the adolescent and health practices associated to them. With a qualitative approaching, the research was performed in a service and formation center specialized in the adolescence at a public university, by the use of observation techniques of practices of the health and interviews with the professionals, who have university degree and actuation acknowledged by the biomedicine and are involved in the attendance.
