Abstract

Considering Feminist Theories and Cultural Studies that approach post-structuralism, we seek to map how some gender senses were/are attributed to male and/or female bodies in society. Such senses, apparently fixed and naturalized, are impregnated both in body and sports practices and in different cultural artifacts, including songs and choreographies. In this direction, we analyse the video clip of the song 'Tous les Mêmes' by Stromae. From an analysis of the song (lyrics and choreography), we identify how certain social meanings attributed to the body, male and female, operate through their reproduction or re-signification. We problematize that the logic of equality and non-segregation can be used to potentiate and emphasize gender stereotypes and sexuality in body practices.
