Abstract

In this paper we analyze the practices and meanings of young bodies built along a research that investigates the incorporation
of class between young of upper-middle and upper sectors of Buenos Aires. The work is developed in the context
of the practice of male rugby.
We describe and analyze a set of rankings on young bodies, which function as categorization hierarchies and diversities. The paper attempts to problematize against the idea of a homogeneous body representation and conformation, beyond dispute within this social group, and associated with dominant masculinity and presentation of the social position of this class. Construction of young bodies is part of intergenerational relations, since it is a concern and an strategy of adult actors that look forward the reproduction of social position, his corporality and values associated with gender and class.
Young bodies are articulated in the discourse and practices of young people, children and adults, producing specific senses and perceptions about the armed bodies, alternative and legitimate bodies, desiring and desired bodies, male and female, poor / popular bodies, bodies at risk and professionalized bodies.
