Disability, globality and education: a new "political body"?

Abstract

Disabled people has less access to education than non disabled people: all national statistics showthat issue. Hence, the educational inclusion for disabled people has become a settled claim. This text tends to put in perspective such claim; in first place, pointing that in a global context, uneven access to education is, in addition, unevenly distributed among first and third world; in second place, taken note that part of national education functions is to homogenize population cultures by the imposition of a scholarly cultural code which is property only of selected minorities. Taking it in consideration, the text exposes that an adequate educational inclusion of disabled people implies a transformation of educational systems themselves. It is necessary, then, a new discourse about disability, one in tight connection with which we call “a new body policy”, in order to obtain an effective educational inclusion for disabled people.
