Fleeing in fear, banishing the anger, escaping from the sadness and falling into the arms of laughter: jokes in Mexico at the time of influenza 2009

Abstract

This text is about humor review, jokes, and laugh at times of influenza in Mexico in 2009. The relationship between popular social narratives (jokes) and the society at a time of uncertainty and fear social emotional reactions. The why and for what of jokes, and the psychological and social function too. The aim is that the joke goes with us to reveal the social, political, emotional and cultural. For this we treat a little humor, comedy, laughter and jokes. We present some definitions of these phenomena and show their psychological and social function, among other things, as part of human feelings and culture in general. Also we reflect about the world of emotions and their evolution or development, and in certain social situations, particularly in the context of the days of the health risk for the H1N1 virus in Mexico, between April and May 2009.
