Abstract

The article analyzes the ways of transforming the subjectivities of young harvesters of yerba mate (tareferos) who resides in peri-urban neighborhoods of the cities of Oberá and Montecarlo (Misiones province, Argentina) in a phenomenological perspective. It focuses on the procedural aspect of being-in-the-world: the ways of feeling immersed in the world. It explores the experiences of young people in the yerbal as “suffering” world comprising a plurality of visceral sensations linked to the Sapucai experience condition (howl of Guarani tradition). To carry out these objetives, we present ethnographic data constructed over eight field stays in the cities and yerbales of Oberá and Montecarlo between 2008 and 2013. It is argued as a hypothesis that young people create themselves as self-subjects through different ways or arts of existence. They include tactics or self practices wich transform the modes of perception, sensitivities and modes of being, from which young people reappropriate its dispositions or work on them self-subjectivisationing or transforming their ways of being in the world since intersubjectivity harvesters gangs.
