Abstract

In the field of migration studies until recently, we have begun to address the emotions experienced by both migrants and the rest of the family members who are involved in this process. The text we present is a contribution to these studies and tries to reflect on the importance of generating research that has emotions as a center of study, which in the end should also contribute to generating public policies that address the various alterations or sufferings that are associated with the mobility of the population. Although migration is usually associated with economic success and material benefits of migrants and their families, the narrations presented here express a negative balance or a non-beneficial result for the women who shared their stories with us.
