Abstract
This contribution on the sad passions, about envy at work has emerged in the plot of the pressures of the contingency
and current events. In this case the subject of the sad passions, has as background the crisis or rather, the crisis
within the crisis, that of the university within the broader financial and political crisis that began in 2008.
We are presenting here the first results of our research on current sad passions in cognitive work as a fundamental
component of the disolution of cooperative actions and movements of protest under the onslaught of individualism
that has characterized recent years.
The intention is to make visible to envy as a social phenomenon and his "secularization" pointing his forgetfulness,
function and impact on society in general and in particular university aims.
